Just because I’ve never read the books, doesn’t make me any less of a fan than those who have. Harry Potter, the movies, have been a significant part of my childhood. They have inspired me, I connected with them, and they bring me comfort and happiness just as the books did to others. Someday I will read the books, but the movies are really what captivated me.
I love the books. I started and grew up with the books. I know I will always love the books more and believe more in the books. Still, I don’t think it really matters where you started loving whatever Harry Potter did for you. What matters more is that you do love it, that it does something good for you and that something good and bigger comes out of that love. In the end, the movies, merch and books are just a part of this awesomeness and what does it matter where it started? :P Smoochy schmaltz and shiz like that.
